#21 Notre Dame at Purdue
I am not sold on Notre Dame at all this year, and the loss last week at Michigan was just more fuel on that fire. The Irish lost to an underrated Michigan team, which is understandable, but allowing 460 total yards is unacceptable. Notre Dame’s defense bailed them out time-and-time again last year in their dream season, but this year it looks like the offense will have to shoulder some of the load, even though they don’t appear ready to do so. Tommy Rees looked inaccurate and ended up going 29 for 51 and 314 yards while also throwing for two touchdowns, but the major issue was his two interceptions. For some reason, the offense decided to shelf their running game and that can’t happen moving forward. Purdue is by no means a good team, but if they can play mistake free it could be enough to get their first win in the series since 2007. Stranger things have happened, especially now that the year-long honeymoon is over for the Golden Domers.
