The Michigan football program is struggling and fans are starting to get pissy, so much so that ticket prices for the Wolverines remaining home games are plummeting. Tickets for Saturday’s Big Ten opener against Minnesota have dropped to a paltry $25 on StubHub as of Tuesday morning.

$25 for a ticket to the Big House seems like a steal, but $1.50 seems even better. The school ran a promotion at the student union in which fans could receive two free tickets to Saturday’s tilt with the purchase of two Coke products for $1.50 each.

The word spread quickly, for obvious reasons, but unfortunately there was a miscommunication between the athletics department and Coca-Cola on the promotion. Derek Satterfield, Michigan’s Director of Football Communications released the following statement:

Coke is a great partner of ours and had purchased a limited block of tickets for the Minnesota game for a Coke retail activation aimed at Michigan students. Due to a miscommunication in the approval process, this promotion should not have run as is. As a result, it is being pulled immediately.

Luckily for those that snagged the deal for the few hours it was available on Monday they will honor the deal. As for the on-field miscommunicatons…those issues have yet to be figured out and will likely cost Brady Hoke his job if the Wolverines lose to Jerry Kill’s Golden Gophers.
