Fiiiiiiiinally, The Rock has come back to the University of Miami.
The Miami Hurricanes new football locker room will honor former Hurricane defensive lineman turned WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
A picture of the new locker room below, courtesy of Michael Casagrande:
Although he’s best known for his wrestling and acting careers, Johnson was a part of the 1991 Miami Hurricanes squad that won a National Championship. He continues to be a staunch supporter of “The U’ and reportedly gave the largest ever athletics department donation from a former student. That should give you a pretty good idea as to why his name is on the wall.
Given the large number of talented football players that Miami has launched into the NFL, it’s pretty interesting that their new locker room honors a guy who is most known for his careers outside of the sport. Money talks, though, and The Rock has spoken.
