After an exciting ceremony unveiled some sexy new uniforms this weekend, the Miami Hurricanes football program had a Spring Game to play at SunLife Stadium. The game itself apparently didn’t lack excitement either, judging by this highlight delivered by ‘Canes linebacker Denzel “The President” Perryman.
The senior linebacker absolutely decleated running back Gus Edwards with a big hit over the middle on a third down run during the scrimmage. Edwards – listed at 6’2, 235 lbs – is no small runner but Perryman managed to drive through him like a ragdoll on the play.
I bet Miami’s coaching staff is glad to see that kind of hit power from their linebacker, but I’m sure they’d prefer he saves the punishment for guys on OTHER teams.
Update: Apparently, Perryman was wearing a helmet cam during the Spring Game, providing us with this first-person look at his big hit:
You can check out the rest of his helmet cam footage here.
