As was the case three years ago with South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, there is significant debate and conversation surrounding the future NFL career of LSU running back Leonard Fournette. Fournette, a sophomore, and Tigers head coach Les Miles have dismissed the notion that he should sit out 2016 to keep his body healthy and fresh to ensure his 2017 NFL Draft stock remains high.
Numerous current and former players, along with analysts and just about everyone else has shared their opinion on the topic and whether or not Fournette could even be a productive NFL player in 2017, 2016 (if there was no three-year rule)…or even in 2015.
ESPN’s Mark Dominik, former Director of Pro Personnel and GM of the Buccaneers and one of the best football minds on TV, joined Danny Kanell and Ryen Russillo to discuss the topic, with Dominik concluding that Fournette could play in the NFL right now.
