No. 1 Marquise Lee , WR, USC: An all around athletic specimen Lee’s combination of instincts, speed and hands are the real deal. Has caught 191 passes for 2,864 yards and 25 TDs during his illustrious career at USC. Expect more great numbers if a legit QB blossoms at Southern Cal.
No. 2 Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M: Johnny is Johnny and although you may be tired of his antics he is going to have an outstanding 2013. With a cannon for an arm and the shiftiness to repeatedly make defenders miss in the open field, he is going to be mighty fun to watch.
No. 3 DeAnthony Thomas, RB, Oregon: Probably the fastest and most electric player in this group, Thomas should explode this year and could be a legit Heisman contender by the end of the year. Rushed for 701 yards and 11 touchdowns and had 445 yards receiving, for 5 touchdowns in 2012.
No. 4 Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia: With 1,385 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns during his freshman campaign, Gurley is a key component of the Bulldogs championship hopes in 2013. Boasts the perfect combination of size (6’1″, 218), speed and toughness.
No. 5 Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville: Has all the tools size, arm and versatility. 2013 will be fun to watch, expect insane numbers and a tough Louisville Cardinals squad.
No. 6 Ka’Deem Carey, RB, Arizona: You could make a case Carey is the best back coming into 2013, however due to his smaller school many would dispute this claim. The bottom line this kid is a stud. Has the ability to go up the middle or cut back outside. With over 1900 yards and 23 touchdowns last season anything is possible this year.
No. 7 Bernard Reedy, WR, Toledo: Another smaller player in stature Reedy’s game is outstanding. In 2012 the speedster caught 89 passes, for 1,220 yards and 6 touchdowns. In addition he returned 3 kickoffs for touchdowns. Guy is a stud and should be a household name by the end of 2013.
No. 8 Stephon Diggs,WR, South Carolina: Over 800 yards receiving and a 11 catch 153 yard performance at Boston College isn’t a bad start. Diggs is a smaller wide receiver with great hands and natural speed.
No. 9 Duke Johnson, RB, Miami: Put up 976 yards and 10 touchdowns as a freshman. Additionally, had 2 kickoff returns. Is a developing player with a tremendous upside and great straight ahead speed. Will be fun to see if he can put the Hurricanes back on the map in 2013.
No. 10 T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama: Impressed as a freshman, expect Yeldon to continue to flourish behind a his huge offensive line. If all goes well in 2013 and the Crimson Tide finish undefeated expect this kid to get Heisman consideration.
No. 11 Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson: Although last year was a disappointment, Watkins is one of the best receivers in the country. With a great season, the speedster will be a late first round early second round selection. Boasts 1,937 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns over his career.
No. 12 Venric Mark, RB, Northwestern: With 1,366 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns this past season, Mark is a smaller back with breakaway speed that runs extremely tough given his smaller stature 5’8″, 175.
No. 13 Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State: With four kickoff returns to the house the past two seasons, Lockett is a threat anytime he touches the ball. Expect his receiving numbers to improve and for the speedster to continue to flourish as a Wildcat.
No. 14 Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State: With great speed down field, adequate size and solid hands watch for Greene to have a break out 2013 campaign. Caught 67 balls, for 741 yards and 6 touchdowns.
No. 15 Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon: As a freshman impressed and instantly became a star as he passed for 32 touchdowns and ran for another 5. With a lengthy frame and long stride he could be a Heisman candidate come this season.
No. 16 Taylor Marinez, QB, Nebraska: Has had some huge highlight reel runs during his career at Nebraska. Expect Martinez to have yet another productive season. Can throw and run; should be very fun to watch. Had a 92 yard touchdown run last season.
No. 17 Braxton Miller/QB/Ohio State: Needs to develop his passing game, but either way when he takes off he is a major threat given his long stride and size. Had over 1,200 yards rushing for 13 touchdowns last year as the Buckeyes went undefeated.
No. 18 Chuckie Keeton/QB/ Utah State: With impressive numbers through the air and on the ground Keeton is one of the nations top dual threat QBs. Had 8 rushing touchdowns and 27 passing touchdowns this past season.
No. 19 Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama: Has the size, speed and hands to emerge into one of the nations best receivers. His freshman campaign was impressive and he will only get better. Caught 59 passes, for 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season.
No. 20 Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor: This kid could have a breakout year after a very productive 2012 campaign where he rushed for 1,012 yards and 7 touchdowns. Keep your eye on him.
No. 21 David Fluellen, RB, Toledo: With great size 6’0″, 215 and an ability to catch passes out of the backfield, Fluellen is an all around multi-purpose threat. In 2012 his stats were ridiculous. Had 1,498 yards on the ground with 13 touchdowns.
