Kevin Garnett might not turn the Minnesota Timberwolves into an instant contender, or even a 20-win team, but his return to Minneapolis is definitely generating some much-needed excitement for the tired franchise.
Many expected Garnett to make his debut on Friday night when the Wolves host the Suns but instead he make his return home next Wednesday against the Wizards and attending that game will be more pricey than Friday’s tilt. 835 percent more to be exact.
To be clear, that massive number is more a reflection of the embarrassingly cheap Friday tickets as opposed to outlandish prices for Wednesday. As of early Friday afternoon, fans could purchase tickets for the Suns game for a bargain price of $2.99 via StubHub.
Here’s where the 835 percent hike comes into play. Tickets for Wednesday’s suddenly interesting game were sitting at $24.99. Yes, that game is still five days away and prices likely will drop but it’s still an amusing comparison.
