Thunder center Steven Adams was impressed with Rudy Gobert’s anime shoes

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams and Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert might be battling one-on-one in the NBA playoffs, but that didn’t stop the former from throwing some respect on the latter’s shoe game.

Thunder beat writer Fred Katz caught up with Adams and asked him about Gobert’s One Piece shoes (designed by legendary shoe customizer Kickstradomis). Adams, who’s no stranger to loving anime, admitted it was “good on him,” for repping the kicks.

Of course, Adams followed that up with “I hate him though.”

Eliciting that kind of response from Adams – even with the jab at the end – is a clear indicator Gobert’s impressing One Piece fans around the globe – even one big one he’s matching up against in the NBA playoffs.
