Christmas, the time to spread the holiday cheer and love your fellow man, unless of course your fellow man is a member of the Los Angeles Clippers or Golden State Warriors. During the NBA Xmas game between the two new rivals things got a bit heated.
Early in the fourth quarter, Golden State forward Draymond Green was ejected for elbowing Blake Griffin. Griffin was also hit with a technical foul after a review by officials.
Only a few minutes later, Griffin was ejected after receiving a second technical foul for his scuffle with Andrew Bogut.
Jamal Crawford missed a 3-pointer that sealed the Warriors 105-103 win. After the game things escalated after Chris Paul and Bogut got into it. Benches emptied and not even Warriors assistant Brian Scalabrine could even extinguish the skirmish.
Blake Griffin threw fuel on the fire by saying this after the game:
If you look at it, I didn’t do anything and I got thrown out of the game. It all boils down to they (referees) fell for it. To me, it’s cowardly basketball. I don’t know their intentions, but it worked. If I knew the answer I’d probably be in a different position. Tonight I got two technicals for nothing.”
I don’t believe that the Warriors and Clippers sang Christmas carols, sipped hot cocoa and exchanged gifts while participating in a jolly secret Santa after the game.
