J.R. Smith hasn’t had a particularly fun last two weeks. It started when he elbowed Boston Celtics guard Jason Terry, which caused him to be suspended a game. Then the shooting went south. Very south. The NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year is shooting 29% over his last six games. Then the rumors swirled that Smith was partying before and after games. Smith then got sick and had a high fever. After another putrid shooting night in Game 4 where he went 7-22 from the field, Smith blamed the losses on himself. “I take the blame for this whole series. I haven’t been playing myself. I haven’t been playing my part. I’ve been letting my teammates down. I’ve been letting my coaches down,” said Smith on Tuesday night. Adding insult to injury, the Twitter account @DidJRSmithMiss was born. The social media account documents the Knicks guard’s shooting prowess or lack there of.
