Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha was involved in a fracas with police outside a New York City nightclub last week, and suffered a season-ending leg injury as police officers attempted to subdue him. The investigation is still ongoing, and multiple parties — the NBA Player’s Association, NYPD — are interested in how events unfolded that night. Today, Sefolosha released a statement through the Hawks organization, capping it off with a comment blaming the NYPD for his injury.

Sefolosha’s teammate, Pero Antic, was also arrested (for obstruction), while Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland suffered a stab wound inflicted by another club goer.
