Wednesday night presented the best opportunity for the winless Sixers to get avoid the worst opening record in NBA history. They are currently 0-17, and if they don’t beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, they’re staring 0-19 in the face Friday night when they play the Oklahoma City Thunder. On the other side, the young T-Wolves are going through some growing pains of their own, as they sit squarely at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Considering the two teams involved, would you be shocked if I told you that — immediately following tonight’s opening tip — both teams forgot which hoop they were supposed to score on? Well, that’s what happened.
