Bronny James has received a lot of criticism since he was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA Draft with fans and media suggesting that the only reason he was selected was because he is the son of LeBron James. But Shaquille O’Neal has had enough of the critics.
During a recent episode of The Big Podcast With Shaq, Shaquille O’Neal did not hold back from absolutely blasting anybody criticizing Bronny James as he pointed out that Bronny is a “great kid” who just wants to play basketball.
“I would like the scrutiny to get off of Bronny James, my nephew. He’s a kid, great kid. All he wants to do is play,” O’Neal said according to Clutchpoints. “It’s unfortunate that kids like ours have to live up to what we have done. I tell my kids all the time, pressure is when you don’t know where your next meal is coming from. You don’t have to be me. I want you to be better than me. I’m not talking about as a player but as a person.”
Clearly, O’Neal feels strongly about the situation and wants to come to the defense of Bronny.
