DeAndre Jordan’s indecision surrounding his free agency status led members from both the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers to rush to meet with DeAndre in order to woo him before he signs any contract.
However, things took a rather entertaining turn when players from both organizations began to tweet out emojis in order to show solidarity for their team’s cause to sign Jordan. Chandler Parsons, JJ Redick, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul got the ball rolling in the emoji war and then old man Paul Pierce waded into the fray with an image of an emoji because Paul Pierce is elderly and doesn’t have time for all of that young-people speak.

And while that produced plenty of good “Paul Pierce is about to fill out his AARP membership” jokes, the best response came from Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert, who tweeted out this gem of a response to The Truth’s emoji attempt.
Paul Pierce just tweeted with his Game Boy color lol
