In the highly anticipated match between basketball powerhouses Spain and France in EuroBasket 2015’s semi-final, Spain managed to eek by France in an overtime by a score of 80-75.
France had an immensely hard time dealing with Pau Gasol, who scored a whopping 40 points, while grabbing 11 rebounds and recording three blocks during the game. Add in the fact that the two international teams share a pretty tense rivalry, and it’s understandable that emotions were running high after the game.
French center Rudy Gobert took to Twitter to perform the time-honored basketball ritual of complaining about the officiating.
Hard to play when somebody can touch you but you can't touch him! Tough loss it is painfull to lose this way but we will bounce back!! 🇫🇷🇫🇷

Gobert’s Tweet did not escape the sight of Ricky Rubio, who grew up playing professionally in Spain. The Timberwolves point guard was quick to call out Gobert.

Yeah, this national rivalry isn’t going away any time soon.
