Sim Bhullar was the talk of NBA Summer League in 2014, as he — all 7’5″ of him — was most certainly the largest person playing in the tournament. His inclusion on Sacramento’s Summer League squad was aided by the fact Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is a fellow country man, and parading a behemoth like Bhullar is one way to drum up some interest in their home country of India. Unfortunately, Bhullar was more of a novelty than anything else, and — not surprisingly — didn’t make the regular season roster.
As such, the New Mexico State product is learning the ropes on the Reno Bighorns of the D-League. The Bighorns, Sacramento’s D-League affiliate, are running a zany system: full court pressure for 48 minutes, full 5-man lineup changes every two minutes, and lots of three-point shooting. LOTS of three-point shooting. We’re not sure how a 7-foot-5-inch guy works in such a system, but the Bighorns employ a perfect guard for it: Tajaun Porter, a diminutive chucker who played college ball at Oregon.
Now that you know way more about the Reno Bighorns than you ever wanted, here’s a photo of Bhullar standing next to Porter, who clocks in at 5’7″. Yep, Bhullar is a big, big, BIG boy.

While the two aren’t exactly the next Bogues and Bol (their height disparity was even greater), it’s still crazy to look at.
