Many of you guys might not know this, but Patty Mills, the Australian gunner of the San Antonio Spurs has quite a name for himself among the Spurs community. While most NBA fans are familiar with the new phenomenon of Robert Sacre’s Yosemite Sam guns and karate chops on the Lakers’ sideline, or Kent Bazemore’s general craziness on the Golden State Warriors bench. Patty possesses an unique skill that sets himself apart from the rest and no, it’s not flopping. He doesn’t do any dance moves or mock opponents, he only sticks to what he is great at and it is towel waving. He’s been the unofficial undisputed king of the towel wave for quite some time now, unfortunately due to his career in smaller markets, his talents have not been recognized by the general audience on a national stage.
However, starting from today, that will change. Because first, you will probably never unsee it again. Second, the man has spent his own time making up names for each variation of his towel wave. You will sit there, stare at the corner of the TV and dissect every one of them. He deserves it. Not for the pirate though, not sure what he is trying to accomplish there.
