At this point, Pat Riley can do pretty much whatever he wants. He’s been at the helm of three very memorable teams in NBA history, twice as a coach (Showtime Lakers, mid-’90s Knicks) and once as an executive (the current Miami Heat). Oh, and there’s that time he kicked Stan Van Gundy to the curb, paid off Bennett Salvatore, and won a title as coach/president/overlord of the 2006 Miami Heat. So, when Riley says wine ain’t drinkin’, then it ain’t drinkin’:
PAT RILEY: “When I quit coaching, I quit drinking. Just wine now.”
