Sam Amick of USA Today is reporting that three-time Sprite Slam Dunk Champion Nate Robinson will sign with the Denver Nuggets — his sixth NBA team. Robinson just submitted his most productive season as an NBA player with the Chicago Bulls last year, averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists in the absence of Derrick Rose, but it didn’t translate into offers of a long-term deal with any team.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets are putting themselves back together after a rough off-season that saw the departures of head coach George Karl, executive vice president Masai Ujiri, and All-Star defensive specialist Andre Iguodala. New head coach Brian Shaw is credited with playing a major role in Robinson’s decision to sign in the Mile High City, but with the lack of offers, it appears Robinson was running out of options for next season.
