LeBron, of course, is following Derrick Rose’s lead, as Rose wore a similar shirt on Saturday.
When asked about it today, Rose had this to say about his decision to wear the shirt:
I’m just happy that people paid attention to it. I think it touched a lot of people because I grew up in an impoverished area like that, and sometimes [situations like that] happen a lot of times. It just touched a lot of people, and I just wanted to make sure that I got my point across.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Adam Silver respects Rose’s decision to wear the shirt, but wishes NBA players would “abide by our on-court attire rules.”
