After the Knicks Game 4 loss to the Celtics, Kenyon Martin made a statement that urged his teammates to wear ‘funeral colors’ to Game 5 to show they were ready to finish off Boston. It looks like J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert got the memo because they arrived in all black everything, as did Kenyon. Unfortunately for the Knicks the Celtics were not ready for their dirt nap and ended up winning Game 5 by a score of 92-86.
J.R. Smith was asked about the decision to wear black following the game and he responded: “We thought we were going to a funeral, we were the one’s who got buried.”
