It took less than a week for the NBA to issue the first “Big Balls Dance” of the season, and the lucky recipient is — somewhat appropriately — the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Martin, who channeled former T-Wolves guard Sam Cassell Saturday night in a late loss to the Chicago Bulls. Martin put the T-Wolves up 102-100 on a big three pointer, and strutted down the court doing a half-assed version of Cassell’s signature dance.
Now, we can debate its half-assedness all we want, but half-assed still means paying full fare on the fine, which is $15,000 — a number Zach Lowe reminds us is equivalent to the fine following a fourth flopping violation. Because, priorities.
