Hassan Whiteside was so far off the radar the last time the Heat and Cavs met on Christmas Day that the 3rd-year big man did not even have the opportunity to offer any meaningful pregame chatter.
Now that the guy is landing in national headlines for monster stat lines, the former 2nd round pick was asked about the Heat’s meeting with Cleveland on Wednesday, specifically how he plans to deal with LeBron James.
Although the two will almost never be matched up one-on-one, they might be battling for a few boards and meet inside the paint and apparently Whiteside is very much looking forward to that:
Hassan Whiteside on LeBron: “I’m not guarding him. I’ll just meet him at the rim.”

Is Whiteside offering up an interesting challenge to King James or simply letting him know that’s about the only place they will meet?
