Giannis Antetokounmpo isn’t scared of the 2K curse, even if it’s very, very real.
After the DeMar DeRozan trade broke on Wednesday afternoon, the folks at SB Nation pointed out that five NBA 2K cover stars have changed teams since 2014.

Giannis, who’s the cover star of NBA 2k19, quickly put water on the idea that he’s going anywhere. The Milwaukee Bucks forward tweeted he’s a “#BuckForLife” and dissed the curse.
2K curse??!! Man please.. 💪🏾💪🏾 #BuckForLife 🦌 #CoverAthlete

I don’t forsee Giannis going anywhere for a very long time, curse or not. He’s a young, extremely talented and loves playing in Milwaukee. The Bucks would have to be out of their mind to trade him. It would make no sense, regardless of return.
Don’t expect the curse to continue for 2K19. If it does and Giannis is somehow traded, I’d be very hesitant to appear on 2K covers going forward if I’m an NBA player happy with their current situation. There’s a 99% chance Giannis won’t be cursed, but the NBA is anything but predictable – so, who knows?
