76ers center Joel Embiid will most likely miss the 2015-2016 NBA season to a second surgery following another setback in the healing of his right foot. But don’t worry 76ers fan, just keep on trusting Sam Hinkie’s rebuilding effort and by 2036, I’m sure Philadelphia will have at least made it to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Philadelphia announced last week that the 7-foot, first-round pick might be sidelined next season after discovering that he might need a second surgery following a series of complications in the rehab of a stress fracture in his right foot. All-star center Yao Ming suffered similar stress fractures in the navicular bone in 2008 and again in 2009, forcing him to retire two years later.
Embiid is the linchpin to Philadelphia’s rebuilding effort. They might have taken another super-talented center in this year’s draft in Jahlil Okafor, but Embiid has the skillset to be a two-way force in the NBA when healthy. But considering how many 7-footers’ careers foot injuries have ended, Embiid’s latest setback is a huge blow to the 76ers rebuilding effort.
