Dwyane Wade is putting Jimmy Butler in check.
On Thursday, actress Gabrielle Union, wife to the longtime Miami Heat guard, posted a photo on Instagram. The T-Wolves guard responded to the post with the comment “WELL DAMN.” On Friday, Wade let it be known he’s not cool with Butler’s public thirsting of his wife.

Wade commented, “Put well damn in caps on my wife photo again and you’re gonna see what the good, the bad and the ugly is like,” in response to Butler’s own IG post with a similar caption. Butler turtled immediately, admitting things “escalated quickly” and that the point was taken, throwing in a joke about attending a BBQ.
The message is clear from D-Wade: If you’re a fellow NBA star openly thirsting over his wife, then you can expect issues with him. You’ve got to respect Wade looking out for his wife, not that she needs it. Butler should probably turn his attention to women who aren’t married to all-time NBA greats. I’m not quite sure what he was thinking with the comment.
The whole thing could be in jest, but the NBA is at its best when the drama is ridiculous and unnecessary. Nothing beats the league’s offseason.
