The end of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2023-24 season has brought no shortage of drama.

That includes speculation about Donovan Mitchell’s future in Cleveland and how he feels about his Cavaliers teammates.

But after Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported that Mitchell had “grew frustrated with some teammates’ lack of maturity, focus, playoff-level readiness and a willingness to listen,” the five-time All-Star decided he couldn’t stay silent. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mitchell reposted an aggregated version of Fedor’s story, disputing its claims.

“Yeah aight [cap emoji],” Mitchell wrote. “I’m sick of yall sometimes.”

Mitchell’s response is notable, as, taken at his word, it means such frustration didn’t exist on his end. And that’s important considering that the Cavaliers can offer the Louisville product a massive extension this offseason, with his decision looming large for both himself and the franchise.

If Mitchell does sign an extension, that could signal additional moves, including Cleveland potentially trading 2022 All-Stars Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. But if he turns down the extension, the Cavs could opt to trade Mitchell instead, rather than risk losing him for nothing when he can become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Suffice to say, it will be a big offseason in Cleveland. But regardless of what changes do or don’t happen, it doesn’t appear it will be because of any issues the Cavs’ star player has with his teammates.
