The shackles are officially off Derrick Rose, and with Jimmy Butler sidelined due to illness Tuesday night, it was up to the former MVP to carry a larger offensive load for the Bulls against the Golden State Warriors. He did exactly that, but it wasn’t pretty. Rose scored 30 points in Oracle Arena, but it required 33 shots to get there. Making matters worse, Rose didn’t have benefit of any free points (he had zero free throw attempts), while also dishing out 11 turnovers against one — yes, one — assist. The good news after such an ugly performance (aside from the win) is that Rose etched his name in Random NBA Box Score Trivia.

Derrick Rose trivia aside, the Jekyll and Hyde Bulls scored an impressive win over the Warriors, snapping their 19-game home winning streak and becoming the first Eastern Conference team to beat the Warriors this season. Meanwhile, the Warriors had their chances to either win or extend the game, both at the end of regulation and overtime. With 18 seconds remaining in regulation, Stephen Curry brain farted in back court, coughing up the ball and leading to a Kirk Hinrich three-pointer. Draymond Green’s last-second tip-in pushed the game to overtime, where Rose hit a go ahead step back jumper that turned into the game winner when Klay Thompson’s running bank shot rimmed out at the buzzer.
