As every sports website, blog and personality has noted over the last two months, the New York Knicks are atrocious. Following Thursday’s 24-point home loss to the Rockets, Derek Fisher’s team is 5-34 and have a decent chance of threatening the 1972-73 Sixers for fewest wins (9) in an 82-game season. During that loss to the Rockets, Fisher delivered an odd, childlike message to his struggling team that basically uses a direct reference to Gene Hackman’s Norman Dale character in Hoosiers. Although the message is fair and reasonable because no group of professional basketball players should ever be in a position to win 10 percent of their games.
