Cavaliers +3.5 v. Nuggets
The Nuggets played last night against Brooklyn and won’t have their legs for this game. Andrew Bynum is coming off his best game as a Cavalier and should be a factor against Denver tonight. Dion Waiters and Jarrett Jack should be able to find some room to operate against the poor Nuggets defense. Mike Brown is always a concern when betting on the Cavaliers, but I don’t know if it matters tonight. Look for Kyrie Irving to have a huge game at home and for the Cavs to pull out a tight one.
Thunder +2.5 @ Blazers
The Blazers are officially contenders. Monday night they beat the Indiana Pacers, who albeit were coming off a back to back, in Portland and are now 15-3. The Blazers have one of the best home court advantages in the NBA and are playing championship level basketball. But are the Blazers really going to beat the Thunder and Pacers in back to back games? I think not. The Thunder are red hot, having won their last 8 games, and have a 13-3 record on the year. Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are almost unguardable. This matchup favors the Thunder because Westbrook can handle Damien Lillard and Serge Ibaka should be able to contain LaMarcus Aldridge. Thunder by 7.
Suns +10.5 @ Rockets
The surprising 9-9 Suns walk into Houston (13-6) on Wednesday night as heavy underdogs against the Rockets. This is going to be a high scoring affair between two teams who must think that defense is some sort of disease. James Harden hasn’t played defense all season and other than Eric Bledsoe the Suns haven’t seen a defensive scheme that they enjoy. While the Rockets should be able to take this one in Houston, the Suns are going to keep it close deep into the 4th quarter. Dwight Howard is going to have a big game for the Rockets but it won’t be enough to cover the spread. Look for Phoenix to get to the line a ton in this one and shoot lights out from deep. Rockets by 6.
Season: 2-6 (It’ll turn around soon…I hope)
