Would you foot a $5,000 bill to wear a pair of sneakers that the NBA banned because of uniformity regulations? Michael Jordan apparently didn’t care when he continued to wear a banned pair of red-and-black shoes, while Nike paid any fines that he incurred.
Although we now know that the red-and-black shoes the NBA banned at that time were in fact another pair of sneakers, the Air Jordan I was a pretty safe guess considering it was the first silhouette in Jordan’s signature model lineage. But check out the commercial for the Air Jordan I anyway. After that tell me if you would pay upwards of $1,500 for them.
See how cool Jordan is as he passes the ball back-and-forth between his hands. See how short his shorts are. You can be cool like that too if you spend your life savings on this basketball shoe?
