Charles Barkley is an amazing man. Sure, he’s an all-time great NBA forward, his television analysis is top notch and his golf swing is a wonder to behold but it is stuff like this that truly demonstrates how great Charles Barkley is as a person.
Last Friday, two alleged carjackers ran down three siblings in Philadelphia, killing all three. Joseph Thomas Reed, 10, Keiearra Williams, 15 and Terrence Moore, 7, were selling fruit with their family by a sidewalk to raise some church money for a playground when they were hit by the car.
News of the tragedy spread and reached Charles Barkley. Barkley, a former Philadelphia 76ers player, made sure to get in touch with the city’s district attorney Seth Williams and Barkley told him that he wanted to help the family of the children by paying for their funeral services:
“Like most Philadelphians, many Americans, and people across the world that heard about this and were moved, he wanted me to know that he wanted to pay for the funeral for these three children, and I put him in touch with the family so he can do that,” Williams said.
