Before NBA All-Star Saturday Night festivities began, TNT aired an hour-long “All-Star Challenge” (emphasis on “challenge”) — a four-sport competition to discover the best all-around athlete among the murderer’s row of Ernie “The Elevator” Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Chris Webber. Needless to say, the entire thing was a comedy of errors, the highlight of which was Kenny Smith attempting to kick a soccer ball, which was deflected by the goalie in the direction of some poor kid sitting way too close to the action.
Kid took it like a boss, though, so props to him.
