Bronny James Lucas Peltier-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James hasn’t had the start to his career that many envisioned when the team selected him in the second round of the NBA draft, making him the first NBA player to be on the same active roster as their father.

Bronny has struggled to get consistent minutes and has since been demoted to the G-League, where the hope is that he’ll be able to develop more and improve with more consistent minutes.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t seen much success there either. In his most recent outing, James totaled a stat line of four points on 2-of-10 from the field and 2 assists.

Fans reacted to the brutal news on social media.

“I refuse to follow a random G League player this closely,” one fan said on Twitter.

“Sadly I’m glad Lebron used his power to get bronny in the NBA but unfortunately once James Retires most of these teams will no longer accept subpar play from bronny. Bryce his little brother will be more equipped for NBA when he makes that leap,” one fan added.

“LeBron should have married an WNBA player It’s no way Bronny should be this trash,” one fan added.

“I get bronny wanting to be drafting but LeBron as he father should’ve made him stay. He’s not ready and he shouldn’t have let him into the fox hole he’s in,” one fan added.

“Bronny is only where he’s at because he has celebrity privilege. It’s sad. He should have been able to fail organically, not like this,” one fan added.

“He’s not struggling. That’s just how he is. He’s not as what people are expecting him to be,” one fan added.

“He overcame heart failure and played NBA minutes with his pops. Mission accomplished, that’s as far as this success story goes and that’s ok,” a fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see what sort of career Bronny can salvage from this horrible start.
