Bronny James is officially a member of the 2024 NBA Draft class.
With the deadline approaching for players to withdraw their names from the draft and return to school for the 2024-25 season, James’ agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that LeBron James’ oldest son is staying in the draft.
Following an underwhelming freshman season at USC, there has been no shortage of speculation regarding Bronny’s draft stock. Analysts and reporters have pegged him anywhere between the late first round and going undrafted, with most settling on him being considered to be a likely late second-round pick.
“Bronny’s [draft] range is wide,” Paul admitted to ESPN. “He’s a really good prospect who has a lot of room for growth. It only takes one team. I don’t care where that team is — it can be No. 1 or 58 — [but] I do care about the plan, the development. The team’s strategy, the opportunity and the financial commitment. That’s why I’m not doing a two-way deal. Every team understands that.”
To that end, Paul’s own plans for arguably the draft’s most high profile prospect are already in motion. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Bronny has already been invited to workout for more than 10 teams, but plans to only visit with a few — including the Phoenix Suns and his father’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
