Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, officially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft last month while maintaining his college eligibility, leaving many fans wondering whether he will keep his name in the upcoming draft class, or potentially remain in the draft class to pursue an NBA career. But on Monday, we received a bit of news that clearly indicates where he may be leaning.

James recently received an invite to the NBA Draft Scouting Combine later this month, which presents a very real opportunity for Bronny to potentially raise his draft stock and generate some interest from NBA front offices.

His freshman season didn’t go the way he likely would have hoped, largely struggling to get into much of a rhythm offensively in his lone season at USC. One reason that this likely was the case is due to Bronny’s cardiac arrest incident just months before the start of his freshman campaign. But on Monday, reports suggest that those issues are thankfully fully behind him.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Bronny had been fully cleared to participate in all pre-draft activities by the Fitness to Play panel. Charania also reported that if all goes to plan at the combine, James is “expected” to stay in the 2024 NBA Draft and begin his NBA journey next year.

Only time will tell whether Bronny does ultimately stick in the NBA Draft. He has until ten days after the NBA Draft Scouting Combine to make his official decision. But all indications are that Bronny James will be an NBA player this time next year.
