On Saturday evening, Bronny James made his NBA Summer League debut with the Los Angeles Lakers after he was selected in the second round of last month’s NBA Draft. But it sounds like he has already suffered a bit of an injury in his knee.

According to a report from Los Angeles Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Bronny James had “trace swelling” in his left knee which resulted in him being held out for Sunday’s NBA Summer League game.

“Bronny James has some trace swelling in his left knee, and will be held out of today’s second day of a back-to-back for precautionary reasons. He’s expected to play in Wednesday’s final California Classic game vs. Miami,” Trudell said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this isn’t a severe injury as Bronny is expected to return to the court later this week, but it’s still a bit concerning that the young player is already battling injuries like this so early in his NBA career, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see how Bronny bounces back from this and whether or not he plays this weekend.
