The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t having the season many expected after they got off to a red-hot start under first-year head coach JJ Redick. The Lakers are sitting at 13-1 and superstar forward LeBron James is playing arguably the worst basketball of his career.

With the Lakers and James struggles becoming more apparent by the day, there’s been increased buzz around something previously considered nearly impossible.

There’s been increased speculation about the Lakers trading James, and now there are reports on what that would mean for his son, Bronny James, who also has a spot on the Lakers roster.

“Sources close to the Lakers did say that, if James asked the Lakers to trade him, they would work with him to find a deal that lands him where he’d rather be, but also brings back the kind of return that would jumpstart a rebuild. If James was traded, it’s also believed Bronny James would have to be part of the deal,” reported Anthony Irwin on Tuesday, per NBA-centric account NBA Central.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“So, that confirms they only drafted him for LeBron,” one fan said on Twitter.

“Of course the only reason Bronny is on the team is because of LeBron so it’s natural that he would be traded along with LeBron as the team isn’t really that involved in his development if LeBron is no longer there,” one fan added.

“The league should just let him be the sixth player on the court. He shouldn’t count as a guy, he should just get to play when his dad plays. Only fair!” one fan added.

“well it’d be extremely awkward trading one and keeping the other,” one fan added.

“What’s the word we are looking for here…oh yeah nepotism,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bronny and James do end up getting dealt ahead of the deadline.
