Brittney Griner got a lesson from a legend recently, and by the looks of the practice tape she is a quick learner. Los Angeles Lakers’ legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar took time out of his schedule to attend a practice session which was put together by Mercury vice president Ann Meyers Drysdale, who asked the NBA office to see if Abdul-Jabbar would be available to address the team and work with Griner. Kareem worked with Brittney on many post moves, but one stood out tall above the rest for good reason. Griner is one of the most highly touted recruits to be headed to the WNBA, and it can’t hurt for the #1 pick to add a sky-hook to her arsenal.
Griner commented on the day by saying “I went to legend school today and it was awesome.”
