The New York Knicks surprised some by taking Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth overall pick in Thursday night’s NBA Draft. Most coherent and educated reactions were conservative, pleading with people to give Porzingis time to adjust to the NBA game and allow his 19-year-old body to develop. But Knicks fan don’t care and they are pissed.
We’re assuming those fans were hoping they took Duke small forward Justise Winslow, or maybe point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, and reacted harshly to Phil Jackson’s move. Many took to Twitter to deliver their reactions to both the Porzingis pick and Knicks’ fans reactions, including Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings, who appeared both surprised and mildly amused by the immediate reactions.
First, he reminded everyone earlier this evening that Knicks fans will flip out if they don’t get their desired target at No. 4:
