Heading into the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronny James has only been linked to a few teams.
There’s the obvious connection to the Los Angeles Lakers, who his father, LeBron James, has played for since 2018. He has also reportedly worked out for the Phoenix Suns.
Speaking to ESPN, James’ agent, Rich Paul, insisted that there are more teams interested in drafting his client than the Lakers and Suns. In fact, Paul even went as far as to name which teams “love” the former USC guard.
“There are other teams that love Bronny,” the Klutch Sports Group CEO said. “For example, Minnesota, Dallas, Toronto. If it’s not the Lakers, it will be someone else. Minnesota would love to get Bronny in, but I don’t know who their owner is going to be. [Mavs GM] Nico Harrison is like an uncle to Bronny. If the Lakers don’t take him at 55, Dallas would take him at 58 and give him a guaranteed deal. Masai [Ujiri, Raptors president,] loves him. They could take him without even seeing him at 31. Workouts aren’t everything for these teams.”
With the draft one week away, the 19-year-old James has reportedly only worked out for the Lakers and Suns, which Paul said is by design. More than anything, the NBA super agent said he’s most interested in finding the right fit for his client, who most draft prognosticators project to be a late-second-round pick.
