Baseball is rather peculiar, isn’t it? Even after over 150 years of existence zany and unusual feats are accomplished each and every day. In the last couple of seasons Jonathan Lucroy accomplished a 7-RBI game twice in one season, Dan Uggla roped off a 33-game hit streak after batting .173 for the season, and the great Mariano Rivera blew three straight saves for the first time in his career just last week.
Since 2010 three Yankee fans have been running a website and twitter account named for Yankees play-by-play announcer John Sterling’s signature colloquialism, “you can’t predict baseball,” where they compile baseball’s daily strange facts and nuances.
Both serious and humorous, the YCPB twitter posts real time updates while the website provides daily roundups of feats and occurrences. Here are a few recent good ones:
