A yellow parakeet invaded Citi Field on Wednesday when the Mets took on the Rockies.
Yoenis Cespedes stepped up to the plate with his yellow armband and apparently attracted the parakeet of the same color. The parakeet hung out and watched Cespedes’ at-bat from the netting until a foul ball scared him off.
Cespedes joked that the resemblance between his armband and the bird was no coincidence.
Yoenis Cespedes said he wore his yellow armband because "I knew there was a bird on the field and I wanted to look like the bird." #Mets
