Manny Ramirez’s dreams of an MLB comeback may be a long shot at this point, but he’s certainly doing everything he can to prove that he’s still got it at the plate. On Monday night, Ramirez blasted his first home run since joining the Iowa Cubs (Chicago’s Triple-A affiliate) as a player-coach earlier this season.
The 12-time All Star hit an opposite field shot in last night’s game against the Omaha Storm. Not only was it a big moment in Manny’s comeback bid, it was also a big moment for his team’s comeback bid. His homer came late in the game and helped spark a 7-6 come-from-behind victory for the Cubs.
On a side note, it’s pretty weird to see Manny wear #44.
