Cincinnati Reds infielder and New Jersey native Todd Frazier decided to honor actor James Gandolfini, who suddenly passed away earlier this week, by changing his at-bat song to the theme of The Sopranos. Gandolfini’s defining role came as the lead character, Tony Soprano, in the hit HBO series, which ran from 1999-2007.
Frazier is from Toms River, N.J. (he still lives there) and was a part of the 1998 Toms River team that won the Little League World Series. He also attended Rutgers and, of course, he loved “The Sopranos,” which was set in Jersey.
All in all, a pretty cool tribute from a hometown boy.
