With Spring Training underway, the Yankees hosted Florida State’s baseball team in an exhibition game at George Steinbrenner Field on Tuesday afternoon. Even though many of the Yankees more well-known faces – such as Derek Jeter – weren’t penciled into the lineup, some showed up to watch their teammates take on Florida State’s talent, which happens to include one Jameis Winston.
Winston -the reigning Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and BCS National Champion – plays outfield and pitches for the Seminoles, and many are wondering if he has what he takes to be the next Bo Jackson. It appears that Yankees greats Jeter and Jorge Posada are already fans of Winston’s, as they lined up to take a picture with the multi-sport start before the game this afternoon:

As for what followed, Winston went 0-for-2 with a strikeout after coming in to play leftfield in the fifth inning of Florida State’s 8-3 loss to the Bombers. Not exactly burning a hole through the stat sheet with that performance, but we’ll cut him a break since he was kind of busy this fall/winter.
