The Pirates turned the extremely rare 4-5-4 triple play on Saturday against the Cardinals, and by rare we really mean that it has never happened before.
First EVER 4-5-4 Triple Play in HISTORY of MLB turned in by @Pirates tonight!!! Walker to Kang back to Walker.

The triple play happened in such quick fashion that even the announcers had no clue what had just transpired. Neil Walker and Jung Ho Kang are responsible for the rare triple play. Let’s run that back for you:
– Batter flies out to second base where Neil Walker was waiting.
– Neil Walker throws it to third for an out as runner did not tag up
– Jung Ho Kang throws it back to second to get another out as runner did also not tag.
