Oakland A’s reliever Sean Doolittle has become pretty recognizable thanks his giant red beard, which he used yesterday to pull off a pretty great (and elaborate) April Fool’s Day prank.
Doolittle tweeted out this surprising picture yesterday:

Understandably, a lot of fans were pretty shocked at the drastic change and weren’t very happy that Doolittle shaved off his signature look.
Those fans were probably pretty relieved when it was later revealed that it was all one long thought out prank:
