Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is a beloved figure in the city of Kansas City thanks to all of his success with the organization. So much of a beloved figure that he received a massive honor from the hometown Kansas City Royals.
The Royals will begin their regular season with a matchup against their AL Central rival, the Minnesota Twins.
For that game, Reid will be receiving the honor of throwing out the first pitch, first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Kansas City Royals said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will throw out the first pitch on opening day.

Everything that Reid has touched in Kansas City has essentially turned to gold. So naturally, Royals fans are hoping that Reid can bring some good energy to their team for the start of the upcoming season.

Others went a more self-deprecating route, hilariously saying that Reid could slot into the Royals starting rotation quite nicely given the team’s struggles at pitching last year.
dead serious he’d probably be their 2nd best starter https://t.co/WOUldq44EB

The Royals can certainly use all the help they can in terms of any good luck that Reid’s first pitch could provide. The organization hasn’t had a winning season since 2015, the year that they last won the World Series.
At the very least, this should draw some Chiefs fans into watching how Reid’s first pitch goes. But only time will tell whether the Andy Reid magic will rub off on the Royals for the 2024 season. r the
