The Colorado Rockies must be enjoying some very uncomfortable marketing and promotions meetings lately. Following a baffling spelling error on 15,000 Troy Tulowitzki t-shirts, the organization did it again. A fan noticed this week that Nolan Arenado’s name was misspelled on souvenir cups, ones that are distributed throughout the season.
It is unclear if the organization realized the mistake back in April or if no one noticed until this fan snapped a photo on Monday. Regardless, one is curious if these player branding debacles will help their inability to attract free agents to a perennial last-place ballclub.
